Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Cordially ("Cordially," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use cordially.to and the Cordially mobile apps (together, the "Service"). Cordially is operated as a sole proprietorship. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Who can use Cordially

The Service is intended for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us information, contact us at privacy@cordially.to and we will delete it.

Information we collect

Information you provide or authorize:

  • Account details from your sign-in provider (Google or Apple): your name, email address, and avatar.
  • A phone number, if you choose to add one (optional).
  • Events you create, RSVPs you submit, comments, poll responses, and messages you send through the Service.
  • Optional profile details you choose to add, such as dietary preferences and payment handles (e.g., Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle).

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic server logs, including IP address, browser/user-agent, and timestamps, for security, abuse prevention, and debugging.
  • Limited usage analytics on our website via Google Analytics (see "Third parties" below). Analytics are not collected in our mobile apps.

How we use information

  • To provide and operate the Service — creating events, managing RSVPs, and showing guest lists to hosts and invitees.
  • To send you notifications you have enabled (email, SMS, or push), such as event reminders and updates.
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and debug problems.
  • To communicate with you about your account or the Service.

Payment handles

Cordially does not process, transmit, or handle any payments, and we are not a party to any transaction between users. Any payment handles you add (such as Venmo or Cash App) are stored and displayed solely so other users can pay you directly through those third-party services. Any payment you send or receive is governed entirely by that third-party provider, and Cordially has no responsibility or liability for it.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • With other users, as the Service is designed: for example, a host can see the RSVPs, names, and any details guests choose to share for that host's event.
  • With service providers ("processors") who help us run the Service, only to the extent needed to perform their function: Google and Apple (sign-in), our web hosting provider (site and database hosting), Twilio (SMS delivery), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), and Google Analytics (website usage measurement).
  • For legal reasons: if required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Cordially, our users, or the public.
  • In a business transfer: if Cordially is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. On our website, Google Analytics may set cookies to measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling the session cookie will prevent you from staying signed in.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging. When you delete your account, we delete your associated data as described below, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.

Your choices and rights

  • Access and deletion: You can delete your account and associated data at any time from your profile. This is permanent.
  • Notifications: You can turn email, SMS, and push notifications on or off in your settings.
  • State privacy rights: Depending on where you live (for example, California and certain other U.S. states), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@cordially.to. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You use the Service at your own risk.

Third-party services

The Service relies on and links to third-party services (including those listed above). Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. We are not responsible for the practices of third parties.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cordially and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be indicated on this page. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Policy.
